Dallas, Tx. 2019

Tuesday, 2 April 2019, we flew from Los Angeles to Dallas, Texas where we stayed 2 nights before driving to Springdale Arkansas.

The car we hired to travel to Springdale to be with the believers there.
It was similar to a Toyota Tarago, but called Toyota Sienna (2018!!)

Buying some lunch at Costco, Dallas.

Daddy doing some work at our Airbnb, while his helper was busy drawing pictures )

Whilst in Dallas, the Lord allowed us to do 2 main things ... which we really enjoyed! We got to catch up with a dear Venezuelan brother and friend, who we hadn't seen for nearly 15 years. It was so nice to be able to spend some time with him, and also remember his dear wife who was called home to be with the Lord a couple of years ago.

The beautiful city centre of Dallas

Two great friends :)

Dinner at a Venezuelan restaurant

These young ones were delighted!!! There was more than one who chose cachapas, toston and arepa!!!

The other thing which was of great interest in Dallas was our visit to The Sixth Floor Museum, a museum which commemorates the life and the tragic death of the US president John F Kennedy. Before we left our place of dwelling that morning, Willians kindly gave us the history and many details of the life and death of JFK ... all which made our trip to the museum enthralling!!! We spend several hours at the museum with our headphones and step by step explanation.... Even Michelle w
as entertained (although her interest didn't last as many hours as everyone else's ;)
The conversations regarding our museum visit and the history continued for many days.

The window from where the bullets were  meant to be fired ...
I say, "meant to be" only because there are many theories, some call them
conspiracy theories. This window is what the "official version" states.

The look from the window ...

Be it whatever happened, the sad thing is that people were killed, they lost their lives,
not only that day, but in the days to come ... families lost loved, lives were scarred ...
souls were ushered into eternity, never to return.

The model made to try and reenact the happenings of the day

Hmmm ... someone engrossed ... learning ... trying to figure it out!!!

Conclusions made ;) Let's shake hands and move on to our next point of interest!!

🔻🔻🔻

Outside city hall, there were these really cool long "pipe" thing :o ...
which was really cool to climb and walk along ;)

Until some policeman came running to tell us we weren't allowed to climb them (ooops) ...
we asked forgiveness and went our way ... I'm sure the policeman was unsure if we were then going to try jumping in the lake (smile) ... It looked like he didn't quite trust these tourists!!
(by the way, there was no sign anywhere to say you couldn't climb the pipes ...
maybe the workers from city hall, never had the interest to do so :)

One happy mamma, feeling very blessed to be surrounded by 3 very handsome and special young men!!

On to Pioneer Park ... a really fascinating park with metal? statues honouring the fact of Texas being a cattle state.

I love this guy!! (and all the rest of them in my little family)

Deep in conversation ... results:

Alongside Pioneer Park, we walked through a quaint old cemetery ...
It was very interesting seeing the family members buried in the family grave:
discussions to and fro as in a certain family, there were several children had passed away at very young ages. With tender thoughts, we spoke of the parents and their heartaches upon losing small children within few years of each other. ... we also wondered the reasons for the deaths (sickness, epidemic, lack of health conditions or treatments?) ..
the thoughts and conversations were somewhat sober.

Time to leave our Airbnb ... to drive to Springdale..
